Primary Focus & Experience
Madison is a member of the firm’s land use team, where she assists with research and analysis for zoning, permits, and entitlements for development projects across Washington. Madison works with attorneys and clients on a range of issues, including critical areas, shoreline jurisdiction, nonconforming use, and SEPA. She has experience supporting projects involving residential, commercial, industrial, and retail development. Madison also works with the firm’s litigation team in defending land use approvals and appealing adverse permit decisions and assisting on other litigation matters that arise from time-to-time.
Before going to law school, Madison worked at McCullough Hill as a legal assistant, where she became interested in land use. During law school, she participated in the University of Washington’s Environmental Law Clinic, where she gained practical experience working on land use and environmental litigation. Madison also interned under the Seattle Office of Hearing Examiner, which gave her insight into the decision-making process for land use appeals. Madison is actively involved in the community, including volunteering with the King County Bar Association’s Neighborhood Legal Clinics for nearly ten years.
